Develop software consistent with Cisco’Design Thinking Principles’ with a focus onsimplification using secure coding practices,ensuring user privacy, and following softwaredevelopment best practices. Build applicationsthat make technology accessible to people ona variety of devices. Imagine, design, andcreate solutions to transform how we work,live, learn and play. Design, develop,troubleshoot and debug software programsfor enhancements and new products.
Engineering & TechnologyDevelop software and tools in support ofdesign, infrastructure and technologyplatforms, including operating systems,compilers, routers, networks, utilities,databases and Internet-related tools.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Contributes to solution of straightforwardbusiness problems regarding operations,products, services or customers.
- Analyzes information, asks questions andchecks for understanding using standardprocedures within the job family.
- Establishes relationships and collaborateseffectively with own team.
- Collaborates with others on projects andworks on small-to-medium features fromtechnical design through completion.
- Applies understanding of the softwaredevelopment lifecycle and how variousagile engineering practices can be used inown projects (e.g., requirements analysis,design, coding, unit testing, acceptancetesting).
- Participates in delivery of technical designfeatures with guidance.
- May apply understanding of how relatedfeatures in a product solves one or morecustomer needs.
- Writes functional clean code and unit testswith guidance.
- Assists in code reviews and addressescode review feedback.• Executes tests for scale, reliability andvelocity within own code.
- Applies depth of knowledge in securecoding principles and reviews others’ codefor compliance.
- Monitors and triages incident reports andparticipates in postmortems and potentialon-call duties.
- Expert in one component of the codebase.
- Shares knowledge from independentlearning with the team.
- Estimates time to complete assignmentsand communicates status, blockers, anddelays to the team.
- ldentifies paths to eliminate blockers andmeet deadlines when needed.
- Collaborates with team members to sharelearnings or assist in problemsolving/resolution.
SOFTWARE ENGINEER – NETWORKING PROTOCOLS
- Solid understanding of computer sciencefundamentals and software engineeringwith an aptitude for learning newtechnologies.
- Fundamentals of TCP/IP networkingfundamentals, concepts of routing,switching.
- Basics of routers, switches, networkdebugging tools, techniques, hands on willbe a big plus.
- Fundamentals of security technologies likeFirewall, IPS/IDS, VPN, Inspections, I Psec,TLS etc., Conceptual understanding of datasecurity, threat vectors, mechanisms,actors and landscape will be a big plus.
- Strong knowledge of programming andscripting languages like python. Strongprogramming skills inclined towards.
- Strong testing inclination to ensureprograms are comprehensive and welltested for all use cases. Possess creativeproblem-solving skills and excellenttroubleshooting/debugging skills.• Experience in establishing and sustainingexcellent relationships with the extendedteam.
SOFTWARE ENGINEER APLICATION SOFTWARE
- Solid understanding of computer sciencefundamentals and software engineeringwith an aptitude for learning newtechnologies.
- Fundamentals of TCP/IP networkingfundamentals, concepts of routing,switching.Solid fundamentals of object-orienteddesign and programming.
- Ability to think towards scalingapplications to the cloud.Strong testing inclination to ensureprograms are comprehensive and welltested for all use cases.
- Hands on exposureto open source, mobile applicationdevelopment will be a big plus.
- Exposure to debugging applicationprograms along with development anddebugging tools. Familiar with more thanone development environment, wel-versed with at least one.
- Interest in User experience and Userinterface design and development.

- 2027 graduate only
- Bachelors /Masters + O years of relatedexperience OR Masters + O years ofrelated experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
- Proven ability to lead and resolve complex technical problems.

- Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve results.
