The NOC Engineer is a key member ofthe global infrastructure operationsteam responsible for ensuring 24/7service availability and real-timeincident response through Eyes-on-Glass (EoG) monitoring. Operating ina Follow-the-Sun model, the NOC Engineer will deliver SOP-basedtriage, incident handling, changesupport, and coordination with vendors, ISPs, and internal teams across geographies.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- 24/7 proactive monitoring ofnetwork, server, cloud, andapplication infrastructure usingtools such as SolarWinds, NetBrain,Dynatrace, Datadog, and SCCM.
- Acknowledge, analyze, andvalidate alerts to differentiatebetween true events and falsepositives.
- Ensure continuous monitoring ofLAN Switches, routers, firewalls,WAN circuits, and data centerinterconnects and visibility of LAN,WAN, VPN, Data Center links, andcritical servers/applications.. Perform first-level diagnostics,attempt resolution for knownissues, and escalate when required.
- Perform SNMP checks, ping tests,bandwidth and latency monitoring,and BGP/MPLS verification.
- Initiate and participate in MajorIncident Management (MIM)bridges; provide real-time statusupdates and logs to incidentmanagers and escalate to NOC level2 within 15 minutes if RCA is notdetermined and remediated.
- Create and update incident ticketsin ServiceNow.
- • Notify business or technicalstakeholders as per escalationmatrix and defined SLA matrix.. Log and track ISP link failures,escalations, and restorationtimelines.
- Act as SPOC for communicationwith network, telco, and hardwarevendors during incidents andmaintenance.
- Maintain documentation of allWAN links, their service providers,circuit Ids, vendor SLAs, contactlists, escalation matrix.
- Support planned and unplannedchanges involving network orserver components.. Coordinate monitoringpause/resume, validation checks,and pre-/post-change verifications.
- Create operational risk for allsingle points of failures, resilienceor high availability failure andtrack to ensure the closure of theOps Risk once the risk isremediated.
- Log all identified risks in the RiskRegister and ensure they arereported to designated stakeholderswith potential threat and impact tothe business.
- Assist in patch rollouts, firmwareupdates, and other approvedmaintenance activities.
- Drive or assist in Root CauseAnalysis (RCA) for major incidentsor recurring alerts.
- Document known issues,resolution steps, and add runbookentries to knowledge base.
- Participate in plannedmaintenance windows forapplication, network, or serverchanges.
- Perform routine health checks,publish reports, documentdeviations and escalate toconcerned teams or stakeholders.
